Windypundit

Classical liberalism, criminal laws, the war on drugs, economics, free speech, technology, photography, sex work, cats, and whatever else comes to mind.

2006 in Review

December 31, 2006 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

I just spent a few hours reviewing the last year of postings to see what Windypundit was all about. For me, 2006 was the year in which

  • I broke into a friend’s house
  • I discovered an important lesson in an old Clash song
  • The Hawaiian government admitted I was right
  • I wrote a letter to ATT which they never answered
  • Heather Mac Donald snubbed my request for her phone number
  • a 17-year-old girl thought I was creepy

  • the Institute for Justice used one of my photos
  • I took some photos of the Jeff Fest
  • I figured out who the Reason Pillow Girl was
  • I photographed someone taking a dive
  • I explained how the law of supply and demand already affects organ donations

  • I crushed on Natalie Portman just a little
  • I got some schadenfreude
  • I still can’t get this out of my head
  • My wife and I lucked out in an election of our own
  • we observed the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks
  • Thierry Legault got a really cool photo of the International Space Station
  • I had jury duty
  • I tried libeling Michelle Malkin
  • I sold a photo
  • Glenn Renolds gave me a mini-instalaunch
  • My trashing of the TSA got an interesting response in the comments
  • I explained the significance of the recent U.S. population milestone
  • I started eminent domain blogging again
  • I posted over 1700 photos of runners at the 2006 Chicago Marathon
  • Glenn Reynolds gave me a much bigger instalaunch
  • I explained my political philosophy

  • I made a shocking admission
  • I had fun freaking the squares at MADD

  • I backdated a year-in-review posting to make it look like I posted at the last minute on New Year’s Eve when I really posted it arout 11:15 the next day.

Sorry if that was too much about me. Here, go read Dave Barry’s review of 2006. It’s much funnier.
