Dear Michael Wynne,

How about you go fuck yourself? How about that?

Sincerely,

An American Citizen.

[end of letter]

From an AP wire story:

Nonlethal weapons such as high-power microwave devices should be used on American citizens in crowd-control situations before being used on the battlefield, the Air Force secretary said Tuesday.

The object is basically public relations. Domestic use would make it easier to avoid questions from others about possible safety considerations, said Secretary Michael Wynne.

“If we’re not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation,” said Wynne. “(Because) if I hit somebody with a nonlethal weapon and they claim that it injured them in a way that was not intended, I think that I would be vilified in the world press.”

(I would have written something more eloquent, but I have to be somewhere in a few minutes and, well, it needed to be said.)

Update: Maybe Wynne should go back to helping Boeing stuff its pockets with taxpayers’ money.

Hey here’s an idea, the guy who invented the Taser gets Tasered himself all the time. How about you take a couple dozen hits off these weapons first and then come back to us with your brilliant ideas?

This is the same as Saddam “gassing his own people” because the Kurds were in some kind of alleged “uprising.” The Bush administration can now be hung with its own rope. And should be. Too bad the media is probably so disloyal to the American public that they can’t see the problem here, or are too afraid to defend Americans exercising their constitutional right to protest from sharing the same fate as Saddam’s Kurds.

I see this as pure partisanship directed at liberals. I see it as a statement that ‘if you liberals like Iraqis so much, we’ll test the pain gun on YOU’. Seriously nobody is gonna turn this thing on a crowd of conservatives, not at where we’re at now politically.
