Time for a Ticket

February 9, 2006 By Mark Draughn 1 Comment

Sometimes technology lets you down in the most frustrating way. When I'm driving home, there's a turn I have to make pretty regularly that is prohibited by a "No Left Turn" sign after 4 pm. As I approached the turn yesterday, it was 3:44, which is right at my limit. Any closer than that, and I skip the turn and go home the long way. Woman of the Law recently went on a date: As for the date: Originally he was going to pick me up from my place, but then thought it would be better if I took public transportation. I took a bus quite a ways out, and he picked me up at the bus station. He honked the horn when he pulled up to the bus station. I climbed into car, and as with most of my romantic encounters, felt a … [Read more...] about Date Night

2006 State of the Union

February 1, 2006 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

I didn't watch the State of the Union live, but I watched the streaming video and read along with the transcript at the Whitehouse web site. I noticed Bush hands Cheney and the speaker two big manilla envelopes. I'm sure I could look it up somewhere, but I wonder what's in them? Written copies of the speech, maybe? President Jefferson started a tradition of giving a written … [Read more...] about 2006 State of the Union
