“The superman exists and he’s American.”

July 18, 2008 By Mark Draughn 2 Comments

I just found out the Watchmen trailer is up at Empire Online. I'm not a super-fan of the comic, but I can understand why some people are. In its day, it must have been the most amazing thing ever. Some of the freshness has worn off now that we've seen its techniques used by more recent graphic novels. Kind of like how the ending of Hamlet---big fight, everybody dies---seems … [Read more...] about “The superman exists and he’s American.”

Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog – A Review

July 17, 2008 By GaryO Leave a Comment

Joss Whedon, creator of Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer is in perfect form with this, his new internet project, a by-product of the recent writer's strike. Dr. Horrible is a super-villain, bent on ruling the world and getting up the nerve to speak to the girl at the laundromat. Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Doogie Howser) plays Horrible brilliantly. Dr. … [Read more...] about Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog – A Review

The Mild Inconvenience Of Gay Marriage

I understand how H&R Block's programmers must feel. One of my jobs is to maintain … [Read more...] about The Mild Inconvenience Of Gay Marriage

In the Chicago Tribune, Jon Hilkevitch is writing about increased enforcement of Scott's Law: Scott's Law, also known as the Move Over Law, requires a driver to change lanes, if it is safe to do so, or to reduce speed and proceed with caution when approaching a stopped emergency vehicle displaying flashing warning lights. Readers who were here last year may remember that I got … [Read more...] about One More Twist In My Criminal Career

A Few Words About Model Releases

July 14, 2008 By Mark Draughn 2 Comments

I seem to be the answer man lately. A few days ago, somebody asked me how to fight an eminent domain action, and now someone is asking me about modeling releases for photography: Hi Mark, I'm relatively new to photography and have a quick question that I'm hoping you might be able to help me with.. I have been using the istockphoto model release form for every photoshoot that … [Read more...] about A Few Words About Model Releases
