Tasha the Adventure Cat, part 2: Wounds

August 29, 2024 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

In part one, I recounted Tasha's first full year with us, filled with accidents, surgery, and lots of fights with one of our other cats. Now that all that was behind us, we figured life with Tasha would be a lot less stressful. But Tasha is not a less stressful kind of cat.About eight weeks ago, out of the blue, I noticed that Tasha was limping pretty badly. Ivy came into our lives in 2013.We adopted her as an adult. The breeder had originally purchased her to be a queen at the cattery, but she never got pregnant, so at the age of four they spayed her and offered her for sale. When we visited her, we loved how friendly and cuddly she was. And for $400, we took her home. I wouldn't normally mention the price, but a … [Read more...] about Ivy R.I.P.

One Week at the Litter Box

January 12, 2018 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

A few years ago, we bought a Litter-Robot automated cat litter box. It's a spherical litter box that detects when a cat has been inside and rotates itself to dump the resulting clump of cat litter into an internal compartment. It makes maintaining the box easier, and it suppresses the odor much better than regular cat boxes. Our dentist had bought one and she swore it … [Read more...] about One Week at the Litter Box
