A Challenge For My Crimlaw Readers

September 11, 2008 By Mark Draughn 7 Comments

If you're a criminal defense lawyer or a prosecutor who likes to interpret other state's statutes or even just an ordinary person like me who's fascinated by legal stuff, I have a small challenge for you. When I was writing the post below on some strange questions of law and morality, I read at Classically Liberal that it's illegal in Illinois for an 18-year old … [Read more...] about A Challenge For My Crimlaw Readers

A Couple of Questions for the Candidates

September 10, 2008 By Mark Draughn 1 Comment

Over at Classically Liberal, they raise in interesting question that someone really ought to ask John McCain. I don't see how this has anything to do with Palin's qualifications for vice president. Raising the Bar: Stephen Bochco Strikes Back

On-again/off-again libertarian Steve Chapman is dead on in this devastating criticism of Barack Obama's campaign: The Founding Fathers set out to protect "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," but Barack Obama has a different idea. The "essence of America's promise," he declared in Denver, is "individual responsibility and mutual responsibility"--rather than, say, … [Read more...] about Searching For Freedom In Campaign ’08

David Feige Strikes Back

September 9, 2008 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

It's not every day a Hollywood producer leaves a comment on one of my posts, so I thought I'd share. David Feige, one of the creators of Raising the Bar, commented on my review of the show. David was a blogger before he was a producer, and I guess he hasn't forgotten his roots. That's pretty cool. First of all, thanks for giving the show a chance. If you stick with it, I don't … [Read more...] about David Feige Strikes Back
