Checkpoint Friendly

June 12, 2012 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

I just bought a new laptop computer, and now I'm looking for a backpack with a padded laptop compartment, so I don't break my new toy in the first month. So as I'm looking on Amazon and reading reviews, I notice that a lot of laptops are labeled "Checkpoint Friendly," meaning they open up easily so they can be scanned at the airport. Fuck. Coastal Dash 2012 Update

June 5, 2012 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

I've been exchanging email with a few people about my upcoming dash to the coast at the end of the month. I have tentative plans with a couple of people, and for a little while it looked like Jamison Koehler was going to put together a blogmeet with some other DC bloggers, but that fell through because he's going to be out of town. I haven't made any … [Read more...] about Second Annual Windypundit Coastal Dash

They do this every Tuesday morning when the leader is in town. The leader once condemned any practice even close to this, but now relishes the killing because … [Read more...] about What the Nobel Peace Prize Winner is Up To These Days

Decoration Day

May 28, 2012 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

Memorial Day always makes me think of my father. He was a veteran of World War II and he was born on May 30, the traditional date for Memorial Day, although my dad always called it by its original name, Decoration Day. It was, in origin, a day for decorating the graves of soldiers. Fortunately, the day doesn't have a lot of personal significance for me. Other than veterans like … [Read more...] about Decoration Day
