I’m a software engineer by training and trade, and like most every software engineer these days (Fall 2026) I use a lot of AI tools. Given the number of scammers using AI to spam the world, you may be wondering how much of this blog’s content is AI-generated. It’s a fair question, and this is my answer:
Windypundit blog posts use only the finest artisanal English prose.
This blog is not AI-generated. Everything that appears to be written by me was actually written by me. For better or worse, this is what my brain sounds like.
That’s not to say there’s no AI used at this site:
- I sometimes write about AI, and that writing often includes examples of AI output.
- When I quote other people, I generally have no idea if they used AI text generation.
- I use AI to manage this blog and generate code for it.
- I sometimes make careful use of AI for research.
- I have experimented with using AI image generation for illustrative purposes.
I have no philosophical objections to the use of AI in general, but I assume that if you wanted to read what an AI has to say, you could ask one yourself. But if you are going to the trouble of coming here to read something, the very least I can do is go through the trouble of writing it.
